A fisherman’s toy store! They have everything you could
ever want, reels, rods, accessories, lures and bait. Great customer
service and reasonable prices (especially if you keep a watch on their
sale and clearance items, as well as seasonal promotions.)
REI
Huge outdoor retailer. Great place for camping stuff,
hiking boots and lamps.
Amazon Fishing
Bet you didn’t know Amazon sells fishing stuff? Besides fishing books Amazon is great place to price comparison shop for fishing
and outdoor gear. Just a few weeks ago I picked up two Leatherman Wave Multi-tools for $20 dollars below retail, that’s $40 saved (until I buy
more lures!)
Trails.com
If you intend to find some fishing holes away from the
crowds you’re going to need maps. I like trails.com because they
give you access to unlimited topo maps and all of their hiking guides
are online for fast and easy printing. Talk about convenience.
Big Fish Tackle
I don’t buy much gear from this place, but they do have
a daily fishing cartoon that can be pretty funny. The reason I put it
here is because they have a weekly drawing for free tackle (4 weekly
winners.) I enter any contest that can get me free fishing gear,
somebody has to win and I figure my chances are better if I enter.
