Daiwa Sol? Spinning Reel

This is a compact reel, designed for freshwater or light saltwater. The drag is sealed to keep out water, sand and other debris so it can be washed without forcing contaminants inside. The body and side covers  are made of lightweight aluminum., with an ABS aluminum spool. This is the spinning companion to Daiwa’s TD SOL Baitcasting reel. This reel is offered in three sizes (2000,25000,3000).

    Shimano reworked it’s popular Curado: downsized the body, made the gear box larger and and increased the number of bearings. So now the Curado is smaller, lighter and and more ergonomic. All of this adds up to a higher level of casting control. It sports an aluminum frame and spool, titanium line guide and Shimano’s Variable Brake System (VBS®), Dartanium® drag and 6+1 bearings.

Feels somewhat similar to the Revo series but a little better ergonomics plus a ounce lighter…Overall, I will say that the Curado’s will be as good or maybe better than some of the higher priced reels out of the box. You get a lot of bang for your buck with the Curado.”

    Summary:

    All in all this reel comes highly recommended. Everywhere I turned someone is raving about this reel. The only negative thing I could dig up was one users mentioned a side to side movement in the reel when casting, but others where quick to reply that they had never experienced that, so there may have been a problem with that particular reel. Otherwise, seems like a wise buy.
